Dr. Adrian Goldstein was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area. He completed his Bachelor of Science with Honors in Microbiology at the University of Maryland, College Park, his M.D. and Ph.D. in Immunology degrees at the University Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, his residency in anatomic pathology at the University of California, Irvine and his fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham under Drs. Craig Elmets, James Elder, Bob Jones and Emily Omura. He is board certified in both Anatomic Pathology and Dermatopathology by the American Board of Pathology and is active in the Maintenance of Certification Program. He is a fellow of the American Society of Dermatopathology, College of American Pathologists and American Society of Clinical Pathology. He holds an Affiliate Membership in the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Goldstein has had a distinguished career including starting the dermatopathology section in multiple independent laboratories as well as launching his own reference laboratory. He has served as a consultant for many public and private laboratories throughout the country, having seen hundreds of thousands of cases. He now calls Tampa his home and consults for Gulf Coast Dermatopathology Laboratory on a daily basis.
