Dr. John Millns was born and raised in Toledo Ohio. He received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Toledo and his medical degree from the Ohio State University. Following an internship in internal medicine at the University of Missouri Dr. Millns completed his dermatology residency and fellowship in dermatopathology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is board certified in dermatology and dermatopathology by American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pathology, respectively. He is a fellow in the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Millns served on the faculty at the University of South Florida and is presently a clinical associate professor of Dermatology at the University of Florida, College of Medicine. Author of numerous journal articles and book chapters, Dr. Millns has been active in numerous societies including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American and International Societies of Dermatopathology, the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons.

Dr. Millns is the director of Gulf Coast Dermatopathology Laboratory which was established in 1981 and services physicians throughout the Southeast.

Dr. Millns continues to maintain strong academic ties and is active in teaching dermatopathology to students and residents.
